A Chinese policewoman gets rewarded for providing unique assistance to earthquake victims.
Jiang Xiaojuan, 30, left her own baby with her parents and took part in the disaster relief work, breastfeeding nine babies, earning her the nickname of "the police mum" in the press.
She has since been awarded titles of "hero and model police officer" and "excellent member of the Communist Party," was appointed to the Communist Party of China Committee of the Jiangyou Public Security Bureau and became the bureau's vice commissar, Xinhua news agency said on Saturday.
There were some objections.
"They said an official position should not be used to promote a moral model."
Personally, I think China, or any government, can use all the good moral models it can get.
There were also supporters of Jiang's promotion, saying that what she did showed she was a good public servant.
Indeed, and probably a little bit sore.

Obviously "Mike" has never nursed a baby.
Mike, brestfeeding nine babies would not make a mother any more "sore" than nuring one.
And nursing one--or twins --or triplets--won't make you "sore" either if you have good instruction and know what you are doing.
Trouble is that the "Mikes" of the world are also often doctors who give bad advise and also know little about nursing children.
Mike, The more you nurse the more milk that you make--that is,the more milk that goes out--the greater the supply.
For feeding babies in the face of a disaster, breastmilk is clean, the right temperature, and needs no "sterile equipment". This makes it the perfect food for babies who need immediate attention. Actually, Human milk is the perfect food for human babies ALL of the time.
The fact that it comes in very cute containers does make it a problem for some men.
